Saygak — Digital Queue Management for Border Crossings

Our team conducted extensive research into government border-crossing processes and queue-management challenges in Kyrgyzstan. We designed a mobile-first application built around utilitarian design optimized for outdoor conditions and driver safety, with large tap areas and clear feedback.

Using an agile methodology, our UX/UI designers and mobile developers collaborated to build secure document-verification systems, real-time queue tracking, and multilingual support for Russian and Kyrgyz. The process emphasized transparent, fair queue management with integrated payments and QR-code verification to eliminate physical waiting and bring digital efficiency to government border services.

Saygak transformed the vehicle border-crossing experience in Kyrgyzstan by making it predictable, fair, and digital-first. Drivers no longer wait blindly or deal with opaque systems; they track everything in real time from their smartphone.

Users download the app, register with personal and driver’s-license details, add their vehicle by uploading the registration certificate, and photograph the car from all sides for verification, all supported by clear, multilingual forms and visual cues. Once verified, drivers join the virtual queue with a prepaid payment of 1000 Kyrgyz Som. The app assigns a queue number, shows the current wait time, and generates a unique QR code for identification at the checkpoint. A countdown timer ensures the driver reaches the gate within 20 minutes of joining the queue, while leaving the queue forfeits the non-refundable payment, discouraging misuse and keeping the system fair. A clean dashboard shows vehicle status, queue position, and profile data at a glance.
